Nicollette Sheridan Granted New Trial

Nicollette Sheridan has been granted a new trial in her case for wrongful termination from Desperate Housewives.
The actress' initial legal battle against ABC, Touchstone and series creator Marc Cherry - who was excused from the suit mid-trial - ended in a split jury in March 2012, prompting the judge to declare a mistrial.
Nicollette - who alleged her character Edie Britt had been killed off after she complained to network executives that Cherry had hit her during an argument about a scene in 2008 - later had an appeal rejected, with the California Supreme Court ruling that the trial judge should have issued a directed verdict in favour of ABC because she wasn't actually fired but had not had her contract renewed. The court advised her to refile the suit on the basis the California Labor Code had been violated, but Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Stern rejected the petition, stating she should have filed within six months of the incident. However, Judge Stern has now ordered a new trial, though it is unclear why the decision has been made.

Eva Longoria Not Ready for TV Return
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Desperate Housewives, Cancellations, Gossip,
Eva Longoria isn't ready to return to TV.
The 37-year-old actress is busier than ever since her eight-year stint on Desperate Housewives came to an end and though she wants to go back to working on the small screen eventually, she is enjoying her break. "What I probably miss most about the show is the routine and the work. But I think I am busier now that the show is over. I would love to go back to TV. Not now, because I just got out after an eight-year relationship. So not in the immediate future, but in the long-run," she said.
Eva - who played Gabrielle Solis on the show - admits the final day of filming was "horrible" for herself and her co-stars, who include Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher and Marcia Cross. "The last day was horrible. We were all excited to move on and close this chapter. But it was a big part of all our lives. The final scene was really emotional. We just sat there and talked, cried and laughed about all the moments," she added to The Sun.

Sofia Vergara is Television’s Highest-Paid Actress
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Bravo, Cable, CBS, FOX, 30 Rock, Desperate Housewives, Gossip,
Sofia Vergara has been named the highest-earning television actress.
The Modern Family star earned around $19 million between May 2011 and May 2012, thanks to her role on the show, endorsement and licensing deals - including a clothing line at KMart and advertising campaigns for Diet Pepsi, Burger King and Cover Girl - and earnings from her media company LatinWE, figures compiled by Forbes magazine show.
The acclaimed financial tome placed Kim Kardashian in second place with $18 million over the same time period, $7 million more than her sister Khloe Kardashian, who placed fifth, made in that year.
Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria ranked third thanks to her $15 million earnings. While she and her co-stars on the drama - Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher and Marcia Cross - all earned around $8 million for the final series of the show, Eva's earnings were boosted by endorsement deals with L'Oreal and Pepsi Next, sales of her cookbook, two fragrances and earnings from other acting roles.

Eva Longoria Calls Teri Hatcher a Loner
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Desperate Housewives, Gossip, Rumors,
Eva Longoria says Teri Hatcher is a "loner."
The 37-year-old beauty has dismissed claims of a feud with her former Desperate Housewives co-star, but admits the actress would purposely distance herself from socializing with the rest of the cast.
"You know, Teri was just a loner. I don't know. Me and Marcia [Cross] and Felicity [Huffman] were a lot closer because we are just girlie girls who like to be in each other's company. Teri didn't. There was no bad blood, I think that was just the way it was," she said.
Eva's former co-star Nicollette Sheridan recently sued the program's creators for unfair dismissal and despite the claims she made against the show, the brunette star insists the legal battle hasn't affected her relationship with the actress. "We were pretty removed from the court case. But Nicollette is great, she is a great girl. She's funny, she's really a broad. She's just a fun girl to hang out with," she said.
It was recently revealed that Teri's name was noticeably left off the notes attached to the farewell presents Eva, Marcia , Felicity and Vanessa Williams gave to the crew when 'Desperate Housewives' came to an end.

Eva Longoria Steals from the Desperate Housewives Set
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Desperate Housewives, Gossip, News,
Eva Longoria has been stealing from the Desperate Housewives set. The 37-year-old actress wanted mementos from the eight years on the series - which will come to an end this month - but admitted bosses had to stop her from taking more items and she is trying to conceal what she has already taken.
"I have stolen some stuff but I'm not going to tell you exactly what because they'll ask for it back. They've already told me, 'Stop stealing things.' I don't want them to know what it is that I have stashed away. What I really want are the Warhols but I haven't found them!" she said.
Eva has admitted the read-through of the final script of the series turned into a "crying fest" because she and her co-stars Brenda Strong, Felicity Huffman and Marcia Cross were overwhelmed with emotion: "It was a crying fest. Brenda couldn't get through her voice-overs. I couldn't get through my dialogue."
"We sat there crying, hugging and reminiscing," Felicity added.
"It was a sweet, private moment for us," Marcia said.
